Leigh, how old are you? If you are younger than 30, it is not yet time to worry about
conceiving. Many reproductive specialists say you should try for a year before seeking additional help.
If you are over 30, 6 months is about
as long as you should try before going to your DR for further testing. And at that point, BOTH partners need to be tested. Your tests would focus on your hormone levels and perhaps your DR will also want to do what's called a
hysterosalpingogram exam to make sure that your fallopian tubes are clear. A history of Crohn's can often result in pelvic adhesions and scarring that might damage the tubes or the ovaries.
Lastly, how are you doing otherwise? Are you having regular check-ups with your GI? Is your bloodwork normal? Are you experiencing any malabsorption issues that may leave you with low vitamin levels?
