Saw my doctor yesterday. He was really hoping it wasn't a flare too, but my blood work came back today saying otherwise. So I'm back on the good ole pred. Starting off at 40mg. Pretty depressed about it. Sad that I only got 6 months this time between flares. I see him again next week and I'm sure we'll talk about what to do next. Also sad because my last round of prednisone just in November packed on 14 pounds. Really something I don't need. What is this one going to do. Sad. :(

Jen77, sorry you are flaring again.  I guess you knew it, but were hoping for something else.  sigh.  What does your DR think is a better maintenance program than the Asacol you were on before?

Jen, so sorry to hear that you're in a flare. It's frustrating. I'm on pred again and can join your 14 pound club, you're not alone! Hopefully the pred will get things quickly under control for you.

kazbern, we didn't talk about it yet. I think he wanted to see my blood work before we went down that road. But since he wants me back in there next week I think that's when we'll be having that discussion. Obviously something will need to be done.

OhCr@p, sorry to hear we're in the same club! Although it does feel better to know your not alone. I see were also in the Interstitial Cystitis club too. Have had that since I was about 6 years old. Our bodies just don't like us do they? lol

Sorry you are flaring again. I really hate Prednisone...so sorry for that too. I always ask for Xanax when I take Prednisone, otherwise I'm too wired and I can't sleep. I just take .25 mg at night and it really helps. I see you have anxiety to begin with, so maybe that will help. I've never had a problem getting off the Xanax after I taper the Pred....just a thought.

Jen, sorry that you are in a flare up. You can tell better than docs when things go wrong as you know your body very well. I def agree with Gumby that you need to take Xanax to combat insomnia. This is at 40 mg but when you taper it, you can sleep w/o it. I used to take half the 0.25 dose and it put me into sleep.
