I'm so sorry your son is dealing with UC. It's really important that his disease is managed well so that he grows/develops properly. I would encourage you to consider remicade. I've been on it since 2009 and it revolutionized my life. It sounds like a scary drug but I've had no issues other than a headache during the loading dose phase. Did his GI doc discuss it in detail with you? Does your son see a pediatric IBD specialist?

Actually, there are quite a lot of posts on the Crohn's forum. If you back to the main Crohn's page and start a new topic, then more people will see it and respond.

The UC forum on healingwell is also very active, and people there might be able to offer more UC-specific insights.
