Mywowgirl:
I am so sorry you are going through all this. You can get E. Coli if you have a fistula that is draining or of you have very watery stools, and (excuse the term) spatter, the E Coli from the stools can contaminate the urine.
It is bad today when you can't trust your health care providers. I have pretty good ones. My hubby had a scare last year, thought he had prostate cancer(he didn't). He has low testerone levels and has to have the hormone. Being without it for Sooo many years, he has osteoporosis. The one doc thaught he had PC, stopped his testoserone(a man with hot flashes and mood swings, oh my!) they did his blood work wrong (after they lost the first set) and when i challenged the doc and said we wanted a second opinion, we were told to find another doctor and dont come back.
I read stories like your on this form...I can advocate for myself and my family(to an extent) because I am a nurse, what about people who don't know what to do. It is assinine that you have to stay with an incompitant doc due to insurance reasons.
I wish you all the best...all my thaughts and prayers are with you and your husband. I hope things turn out well for you. God bless
