food can upset your symptoms but I don't believe it can knock you out of remission. It may not be the lactose in milk that is bothering you, but something else in milk. I tried a lot of different substitutes, and I have found that I like Almond milk the best, and I stopped drinking cow's milk altogether. I tolerate cheese ok in small amounts, and I do fine with yogurt. So you just have to experiment and see what works for you. I also have found that a food will bother me one day, and I can eat the exact same thing and be fine on a different day...it's maddening!! I hope you feel better soon.
