Has anyone had an internal abscess drained and healed and then tried LDN to maintain remission? Has anyone tried humira or ramicade after having an internal abscess drained and healed?

CD with abscesses and eventually fistulas is considered moderate to severe penetrating Crohns.
People who take and respond well to LDN have crohns disease with inflammation, meaning diarrhea and dietary restrictions.
There are many people out there who believe that diet and LDN will make you better, but it's alot harder to achieve for people with abscesses and fistulas who don't suffer from the same set of problems.
In my case, I can eat whatever I want for the most part. I don't have diarrhea or arthritis.
I have severe fistulizing Crohns disease. My abscess ruptured and created a fistula. Remicade was able to close the fistula temporarily, but it came back. My GI told me that there are no studies that show Humira removing fistulas. In fact, I've read here that many people with abscesses arent allowed to start Humira.
Also, antiobiotics are the first attack method to treat abscesses. These are usually cipro/flagyl, nasty side effects, but worth it.
The problem is that when they run out, the symptoms return. Or worse, your doctor continues to refill your prescript
ion for them and you end up with a terrible condition called C-Diff.
There's also many people who have setons, which keep the abscess draining, and therefore minimizing pain, but these can be hard to live with.
I dont know how your cousin is doing today, but I advise you to tell her, don't make any rash decisions about
her care and I encourage her to get a second opinion.
Lance that abscess, take the antibiotics, and start taking daily meds. If she's super lucky, she wont get another abscess. Buf if she does get another one, don't let it burst like I did because that's a sure fire way to create a fistula.
