Crohns Disease

 My daughter in law has Crohns she is in remission and wants to have a baby but she is on the purinethol drug

Gyno says  the drug is highly dangerous and she should not get pregnantt while on it As she is remission the gastro doctor  says this is the only drug to keep her in remission. Can anyone help  is there another drug out there

We have had several members take purinethol or Imuran while pregnant and deliver healthy babies. We have also had other women take biologic medications while pregnant and have healthy babies.

If you search on the top of this page using pregnant and imuran you will find other threads. Purinethol and Imuran are similar. Purinethol is converted {metabolized] into the ingredient in Imuran by the body.
