I must admit I started this article with some skepticism. The initial bold paragraph states "
There are no well-established clinical treatment guidelines that include nutrition or pharmacologic interventions for these patients." The first tx I received was pharmacological when I had my fistula Flagyl. It was very successful in treating the fistual until I could not tolerate the side effects. Later it lists etiologies and CD and UC are not even in the list.
I did read further as I always am waiting for my next fistula to appear. I guess I am just disappointed as this seems to only aply to those with fistuals away from the perirectal/vaginal areas. Did I miss something?
