I hope you have read my previous rants, however here is a recap:
have had a duodenal bleeding ulcer caused by Crohn's since 1997, Yes that is right, no typo there.
to the point now of having blood transfusions every 2.5 months, this has been for 2 years
surgery has not been done because they are worried about
the exact
location and if they resect microscopic Crohn's may re-occur and it may not heal and it could perforate.
waiting for a gastroscope which could take a year, however was told if I say ok to surgery I am a priority an will only wait 6 weeks.
Here is my dilemma my summer is nicely organized with my 3 kids, I have a trip planned to vancouver and calgary at the end of aug.
Do I just say screw it and just go in and try to fix me already, or do I wait, wait, wait, for a scope and get as much info on this monster inside of me? I have emailed my surgeon with an update as he has been vacationing the last 2 weeks, so he will get it upon his return. Unless of course his rude front staff get the email first and delete it. I do think that in my down time this summer, I will write a detailed letter of my terrible ordeal with our Canadian Medical System over the last 5 years or so.
Just as an ending note: I have a friend who went to a CDN ER here in my city with "excruciating" abdominal cramps, she waited 9 hours in an ER, got checked and was told she had appendicitis, had to medi vac her to another hospital here in the city and as she is waiting for her surgery, her appendix RUPTURES. Now she is also suffering from a lung infection and a collapsed lung. Seriously we need to speak out!!!
Thank you so much for listening to my saturday morning rant
