I've been reading that some people have tried this.  Just wondering how many here have tried it?  Did it work?  Did your GI give you a prescription?  I have a feeling my old school GI will just give me a blank look if I ask him.

Yes I tried LDN and am still on it. I think it may have helped a little, especially at first, but I still have inflammation in the TI, (just had a scope). The inflammation is somewhat improved from my scope 2 years ago, but still moderate. I stay on LDN because besides helping the crohns a little, I have not gotten sick (with a cold, etc.) since I started it a year ago. Some people have really good luck with it for crohn's. others not so much. I got my GI to prescribe it. Good luck!

BigBetty,,,are taking any other meds besides the LDN?  What symptoms are you having now since you have been on LDN?

I was going to ask some of the same questions.  Any side effects?  What other meds are you on?  I'm tapering off pred now and my GI wants me to start Imuran. I really would like to try another approach. Because of the pred, my immune system is low and I just came down with shingles.  I don't want my immune system down forever.

LDN is a very safe med according to my docs. You can get a little sleep disturbance, but really hardly noticeable for me. I was on no other meds until one week ago when I got into a clinical trial for a new med. Not sure if I am getting the placebo or the drug. I have been having mild-moderate crohn's symptoms, i.e. multiple bathroom trips, a little nausea and a little pain or discomfort, but count my blessings as it could be much worse, (healing thoughts to all who are struggling now). I would recommend trying LDN as there is hardly any downside. Best wishes!

My GI said he would not give me a prescription for LDN. I guess I'll have to try to find someone else.

Skip's Pharmacy, (800-553-7429), may be able to help you locate a dr. in your area who would be willing to prescribe it. Hope it works for you.

I got a couple of numbers. However, they want $300-400 for a first visit.  I don't have private insurance. It seems awful high for a first visit .  I want to try LDN but I can't pay that much just to talk about LDN.

I'll keep researching my options.

I think it's available anywhere. Comercial name: ReVia (Naltrexone). In 50mg pills. Some pharmacy breaks it in 4.5 mg pills, or they can buy the naltrexone powder.

I'm considering it...
