Irritation in scar area of prior anal abscess surgery

Hey everyone its been some time since i posted here but as you all were so good the last time i figured i'd come back and seek some advice =]

To cut a long story short, I had surgery in December 2010 to 'lay open' a fistula that had developed after a perianal abscess (which had been removed surgically about 8 months prior to this.) To this day i still have flare ups around the scar were its painful to sit down and i was just wondering if anyone else experiences the same thing? Im entirely healed on the outside but it comes and goes and unfortunately im back at the stage were it's coming. I have no desire in going to see the doctors as i've done this in the past only to be told i needed to give my body more time to heal after all the trauma. I don't have Crohns but cant find another board to post this onto were the query would be relevant to the audience so to speak.

Any words of wisdom would be much obliged =]
