My son had stool tests done on August 14, 2012 of course I did not hear from the doctor so I assumed that everything was okay. This morning I just decided I would call to double check and this afternoon she calls me back to inform me that the results just came back last night and there is blood and white blood cells in the stool.
He had being doing so well on 75mg 6mp from February until late June, on June 29th his dose was increased so that he would alternate between 75mg and 100mg every other night. about
a month after the dose increase he went from having one bowel movement daily formed to having 3-4 loose movements a day. On August 13, when the doctor called to give me the results of his labs and advise me that with the increase that he was in the therapeutic range that I mentioned the change in bowel movements that prompted the stool tests.
We had more labs done this evening and she is to call me on Monday to see if his CRP and Sed is on the rise. Any thoughts as to whether 6mp is no longer working or if the increase in dosage could be causing him some problems.
Also, I think that it is my bad for waiting so long to call for results, for some reason I have a feeling that the results may have being sitting on her desk for some days. I feel like I have left my son down. :
