Hi bella,
The one thing I will disagree with you on and it's a good thing, the comment, "sounds ridiculous saying this but it's true. I fear salad, fruits and veggies."
I loved having salads during the summer, when the Crohn's was in the stages of remission or mild but paid the price for those salads, the lettuce being the culprit. Knowing that pain that we can get from flare ups and blockages, it is something to fear. So it's understandable that we have that fear ingrained into our minds.
After my resection, it was on, the food and I waged war!
I went from 140 pounds at the time of my surgery to 190ish within a year. I didn't eat anything and everything, I've always had the mindset to take care of myself since having Crohn's at an early age. I had a work out regiment that I continue follow and strict about
it, dieted more so because of exercising than the resection from Crohn's.
I knew and was OK with knowing I could eat many things except some diary products, milk, ice cream and a few others but chose not to.
In time and speaking from experience, you should feel better and lose some of that fear about
eating anything you would like to.
