Prometheus Blood testing is it accurate?

In 2010 I was diagnosed with Chrons after a series of strange occurences which landed me in the hospital for a week. Ending with a colonoscopy which indicated 19 ulcers in the colon with over 10 bleeding. I was tappered off meds with me returning to the hospital with abdominal pain and very srtrange sores on my legs and arms. At that time I was diagnosed with Chrons. I was placed on remicade which I had a reaction to and then placed on Humira and currently inject every 2wks subcontaneously.

Today I went to my dr for 6 month up. We reviewed my most recent blood work collected on 8/16/2012. Upon review of the results I began to discuss I had experienced an episode for approximatley three weeks leading up to the blood work. Dr seemed a little perplexed my bloodwork did not indicate that I had experienced an type of episode possibly gastroitis. I figured this was my time to again revisit the question "do you think I have Chrons?" So of course the testing begins again lets check again for fistulas due to the leakage. Prometheus blood ordered and  consult with the colon rectal surgeon. 

The question can this blood work rule out that I have chrons all together?

No medical test is 100% accurate. For some the various Prometheus tests are quite accurate. For others they end up totally off base.

Actual biopsy is the most accurate but even that is dependant on the skill of the pathologist in recognizing subtle differences in the tissue sample AND even whether the person doing the biopsy was able to actually biopsy the right area. Crohn's skips whereas UC spreads evenly. Biopsy tissue is just a small snip from a suspicious area and Crohn's skips can be very small.

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck it quite likely is a duck - at least until proven otherwise.

When I was being diagnosed my doc ordered every test including Prometheus . My test came back negative. No CD YEA!. My doc said she does not trust the test and eventually ordered a pill cam. When the pill cam results came back the ulcers were so easy to see I could Dx.
The test cost me $1,200 and my doc said this test is accurate only 60% of the time. She apologized for wasting my money.
Given my experience, there is no way I would waste my time or money.
