flare or B12 injections???!?!

Hey guys weird question, my gastro recently had me taking B12 injections weekly and i know one of the side effects is diarrhea so for the month that i was getting them i was like ok itll go away but now i havent had a shot in 2 weeks and im still having awful painful diarrhea. I've never had a flare since i was diagnosed 2 yrs ago so idk what one generally is like but this certainly doesnt seem normal.

any ideas? is it just hold over from the B12 or did that somehow start off a flare?

plz help idk if i should call the dr or just deal with it.

Call the doctor. I don't have experience with B12 shots, but in my two years of CD I've learned that diarrhea can get out of control really fast. When I flare (brought on by salmonella once and c. diff. three times), I can go from normal BMs to 20+ very bloody, liquid BMs per day within a week. This last time I went from almost constipation from IV dilaudid in the hospital for pancreatitis to the bleeding and cramping in less than 48 hours. This is a bit extreme, most don't have it happen that fast I don't think, but you just need to be careful because dehydration can happen so fast.

I get monthly B-12 injections and never connected diarrhea to the B-12, (I have chronic D) but that's not to say it can't happen. I don't think the B-12 caused your flare. It was probably coming anyway and came around the time of your injection.
