I was wondering if anyone knows if severe stomach and back pain goes along with having c-diff.
Thanks Kay

Generally c.diff will give you lots of D, possible nausea and bad cramping. I don't know about
back pain. If you think you may have c.diff, you should ask for a stool culture

Do you know have c. diff or is it just a guess? C. Diff can be anywhere from mild to life-threatening.
If you have been diagnosed with C. Diff and have developed severe pain you need to go to the ER immediately.
A fairly rare but serious complication of C. Diff is Toxic Megacolon which causes severe abdomnial pain and may require emergency surgery.
The National Institutes of Health says:
Go to the emergency room or call the local emergency number (such as 911) if you develop severe abdominal pain -- especially if you also have:
• Bloody diarrhea
• Fever
• Frequent diarrhea
• Rapid heart rate
• Tenderness when the abdomen is pressed

Where in your stomach does it hurt? Is it intestinal (below belly button), stomach (slightly above belly button), or upper abdominal (above belly button just below rib cage)? And where in your back? I've had c. diff. four times now, and it was always intestinal for me. I also bled with diarrhea pretty quickly. But the only time I've ever had back pain was actually with pacreatitis, which was caused by Imuran.
