I'm newly diagnosed with colitis/thinking Crohn's and am on prednisone and Asacol 1,200mg twice a day. The past two weeks, three times randomly, I've had really dark brown/pink urine. I had a urinalysis done that came back fine yesterday. Anyone else have this happen on Asacol?? No one seems too concerned about
it.

Also does Asacol make anyone else feel really dizzy/out of it/foggy?

The only time I had discolored urine was on flagyl, it was super dark.
Im not sure if this a side effect of Asacol or pred, you might just ask your dr if its anything to worry about
. If a test came back fine, then it should be fine.
Oh and welcome. Hope you start feeling better!

Asacol can turn your urine purple, so I wouldn't worry about
it. Dizzy? Nah. There is very little absorption of Asacol.

One of the side effects listed with Asacol is dizziness - so yes, it could be the culprit. But also remember that many other things can cause dizziness. The number one thing with people with CD is losing so many fluids due to diarrhea that they then get dzzy. Evaluate the situation and if the only thing you can come up with is the Asacol, call your doctor. There are other meds to treat CD.

Purple pee sounds trippy. MY wife has noticed pink/red spots of urine on the seat and wondered if I was bleeding, but maybe its a slight purple in my pee from the Asacol. That solves a mystery for us.
Flintstones vitamins, yum.

Yes, asacol will leave purple stains on clothing and toilets.
