Imuran is the only medication she's currently taking. When first diagnosed, she was of course put on 9 weeks of Prednisone, and as rookie parents, we thought she was cured.
The pediatric GI we had at the time added Pentasa. For 2 years we thought everything was wonderful, until one day she woke up in extreme pain.
She had an orange sized abcess on her TI. Again Prednisone, and a drain line seemed to take care of it. Then she started Imuran.
As far as symtoms, she's always battled constipation, and almost never diarreah. Other than that, she usually feels pretty good, yet the current (adult) GI we've started seeing, feels she's presenting on the severe side. about a year ago, she started recommending Remicade. As I indicated, it really scares the heck out of us. I think it's mostly the fact that it just hasn't been around long enough, to give a true evaluation as to the long term negative effects.
Thanks for your concern and imput, much appreciated.
Tom.
