Pain Management Recommendation+ Advice!! - Cleveland Area?

Hey Guys,

I recently relocated to the Cleveland area, and I don't know how to keep getting my pain meds! I had so much difficulty getting a doctor to prescribe them for me in NJ (GIs won't advise past "take 2 tylenol", and most pain drs say "this is between you and your GI"). I would be really grateful for any recommendations, or any advice you might have on convincing a doctor that it's not an unreasonable thing to request!

Have you found a new GI yet? If not, I would look around for a GI that will address your pain. My GI will prescribe pain meds as needed, but not for continuous use. Narcotic pain relievers can be a blessing, but are not normally appropriate for continued use for Crohn's. They cause constipation and can exasperate your symptoms and the main goal should be to treat the Crohn's and in consequence decrease pain. Is this an option for you (finding a GI to give you meds as needed)?
