My daughter (17) has been on Humira very successfully for 2+ yrs. No problems. Now she has developed erythema nodosum(sp) and now what looks like vasculitis on her lower legs and feet. She has been back on prednisone for the EN but the red spots and swelling have gotten considerably worse. Anyone have experience with vasculitis while on humira? Is it a side effect or a crohn's symptom?

I don't know about the Humira,the Erythema Nodosum, but encountered the vasculitis when taking Remicade. After Remicade infusions If I was doing physical work the red splotches would appear. most of the time they only way i'd notice it was they'd puff up full of watery blood and burst. the sting. I'm not muscle bound but not flabby. I documented it and took pictures for the GI when I saw him. I'm not on Remicade any more and the splotches of Vasculitis have seem to have stopped. Am taking Cimzia now.
I sure like to keep active and it seems to help. EN is that entocort?

thanks...no, EN=erythema nodosum. But, the red spots/swelling/bursting started only recently and she can barely walk on one foot it is so swollen now. A dermatologist did a biopsy last week but no result yet. Going to GI today. I really hoped the pred would help with both but apparantly not.
She has done remicade already briefly and now the humira. May be time for a switch? Not sure if upping the humira, like GI suggested at one point, would be a good idea or not..?
