I have had diarrhea fof 3 years , no insurance , now what ?

  I was told by a friend that i probably have croh's disease . Fom what ive read here i think she mite be rite . BMs 8 times a day or so , cant gain weight , loseing weight , afraid to sleep sound and make a mes ect ect . I make to much money to get aid , and not enough to get help . Will i just waste a way and die ? All the drugs i read about here sound like a nightmare . And it sounds like there is not a cure .    Thanksfor taking the time reading this .     PS. im a 57 yr old   male .

The only way to know for sure if you have Crohns is to have a scope and to see a GI. I do not have the same issues as you regardng medical cost as I live in Canada but sympathize with you as i do have to pay for all medications with no health benefits. I do not suggest letting this simmer and wait to long. The longer you leave things untreated or diagnosed and medicated the worse you situation can get. Crohns may start out mild but the more damaged your intestines and colon get the harder it is to treat and achieve remission.

yeah, all the drugs are their own little nightmare. This disease sucks, the medication sucks, the only advantage you have is that you probably lived ok all these 57 years.

Imagine being diagnosed at like 7 or something, that has to suck.

You better wish you don't have Crohn or U.C.

Possibly start a new question about diet changes or a Crohn's diet to get some relief. It appears we are all different so what works for one may not for another. Ask again and there are others that might be able to get you some helpful information. But get to a GP or clinic. They might write you scrip for steroids or something. But for heavens sake, get to one and bite the bullet you have to take care of yourself.

Where do you live? In the US with the new Affordable Health Care Act, you may be eligible to get Medicaid or other affordable insurance, when before you could not. You really need to see a doctor and get tested before you can get a diagnosis. If you feel very sick, go to an ER, they can't turn you away. Prednisone (steroids) are very inexpensive...so if you see a GP or health clinic, they may be willing to at least give you a round of treatment if you can't afford the testing. This may not be Crohn's or colitis...it may be colon cancer....you really need to see a doctor!! Sorry you are going through this!!!

    Thank you very much for the responding to my post . I think am afraid to learn the truth . ..... Im getting scared more now mabe the truth will be better than what im going thru ....... I dont have any pain , just D to the max , i havent had a regular stool in at least 3 years . I can manage the D to a point but not if i go to sleep . I am a captain on a rescue/tow bot , sometimes 4 to 10 hrs towing . so far ive managed to get top port before i make a mess . I wont eat before i go or when im towing . darn darn darn
