Hello:
My 17 year old son had his colonoscopy and endoscopy two weeks ago tomorrow and it revealed 3 ulcers at his resection site. Budesonide 9mg was prescribe to help with ulcers. Everyplace else was clear little red patches in his large intestine which they say may be due to a recent C-Diff infection his been battling since October. Two rounds of Flagyl, one round of Vancomycin and now on a Vancomycin taper. Waiting for a call back from GI on biopsies that were taken and on C-Diff stool sample.
I guess what I am trying to figure out is when he is on full dose antibiotics stool is formed and all is well. Once he comes off and starts to taper stool loosens up again. I am wondering if after a while on the Budesonide that the stool will form up or could there be a possible infection or another reason as to why he does fine while on full dose antibiotics.
Meds he now takes Asacol, 6mp, probiotics, Vitamin D, Ferrous Sulphate, Budesnoide 9mg and the Vancomycin taper.
Thank you so much for reading my post and any advice or questions that you think that I should ask GI if I get talking to her tomorrow would be greatly appreciated.
