Hmmmm...feeling good today after only 2 days of pred...is that normal?

OK so I ahve not been on pred that often.  Two days of 40mg and I am already feeling better today.  Of course sleeping from 7pm last night to 6am this morning helped catch me up too

Am I having a good day or is possible that pred can kick in this fast?

I am hoping it is the pred and that I have been right all along----I would love to be right about something lately hehehe.  I also have to go spend more time in a hospital tonight--Dad was in ER twice last week.  FIL was in ER and I was there with him Tuesday night/morning, now my Dad is back in the hospital as of last night.  I am thinking of wearing a mask until I get to his room...jsut dont want to risk getting something else.

Sorry rambling...so point is does pred work that fast?????

Yeah, it could be working that fast....sorry about your relatives in the hospital, but glad you're feeling better!

Yes, symptomatic relief on pred is fast, as others have noted.

Unfortunately, the side effects can come pretty fast too, though not in just 1 or 2 days. More like 1 or 2 months, but they are inevitable.

The severity of the side effects varies quite a bit. I'm one of the 5% of the population that can get glaucoma from pred. I nearly lost my eyesight.

So yeah, enjoy the fast relief from pred. Try not to make it a habit, or you might regret it.

I can usually feel some relief on pred- or from a pred increase- within hours and definitely within a couple days so sounds normal to me.
