If I am posting in the wrong room, I apologize upfront. I have read a lot of the forums and have seen some similar to mine in this one.
A bit of history. I am 54. about 15 years ago I had a hysterectomy. I am a diabetic, taking insulin at night and metformin twice a day. I have hypo thyroid. I take one blood pressure pill to slow heart rate and another one for my kidneys because of me being diabetic.
Just before Christmas I had bright red blood coming from my vagina (not much). This concerned me but then I started passing gas through my vagina. Really bad odor and could not control this. I did some research and saw that it could be a tear between the colon and vagina. Then the second week of January I got bronchitis. While at the doctor I talked with her about the other problem. She wanted me to come in the next week for a pelvic exam. Four days later I had to go to the ER because I could not breathe. The next day I had feces coming through my vagina. This scared me so bad, I thought that the coughing so bad had made the tear worse. I called the doctor and went in for a pelvic exam. She could not find a tear and sent me for a CT scan.
The CT scan showed no tear but I have advanced diverticulitis with a mass around my sigmoid colon and attached to my bladder. The results also said NOT likely to be a maligancy. My doctor sent me to a surgeon. Now I have to have a colonoscopy to make sure there is no cancer.
Needless to say I am having anxiety attacks.
Has anyone else had anything similar? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
