So on march 14 i started talking prednisone 40mg for my really bad flare up, i was going to the bathroom 20+ times a day. i went to my doc on monday, and he said hes gunna put me on remicade because going that much still wasnt really normal and i wsant getting much better. but he also said if i drastically stop going to the bathroom thats even worse. and starting on tuesday, i really have not been going. when i wake up i have beyond terrible gas, it even hurts me and its so loud, but nothing really came out. i had a tiny bit come out throughout the whole day. same thing happened on wednesday, and today ive had legitamite stool come out. im really worried about what the doctor said, what should i do? what do guys think it is? and why do i all of sudden have terrible, painful gas!! ???

if you are passing stool then you probably don't have an obstruction. Where is your disease located?

mainly its really inflammed in the descending and rectum

As long as your bowels are moving and you're passing gas, then I wouldn't think you have an obstruction. The concern being, if you are unable to pass gas at all, I would strongly suspect an obstruction at that point, and get to the Hospital right away.

While it is true that most people will not pass gas or have BMs with an obstruction, I had a small, forced BM (while simultaneously vomiting) during the episode that landed me in the ER a few weeks ago. Turned out I had a perforation, abscess, and multiple areas of narrowing. Also turns out I had ignored obstructions in the past that (luckily) had resolved on their own, per my doctor's explanation.

My point is you know your body best. If you feel it's a significant change from *your* normal, go in. Not everyone will present with the same symptoms. I'm sorry I ignored mine for so long and just tried to suck it up!

Normally I would know, but within the couple weeks I also had C-diff, so at some points I wasn't sure whether everything thta was going on, was cause of my chron's or because of the c-diff.i then had a colonoscopy, he said my imflamation was very severe so they werent even able to continue the colonoscopy. then the c-diff went away, and i hadnt really passed gas all that much, i was still going to the bathroom a lot, and pushin really hard because of the pain, and i was vomiting bile. then after a couple days of prednisone, here i am, going from 20+ times a day, to barely once a day with so much gas i cant even explain. so im really just confused as to waht is going.
