Is anyone on Cytoxyn, Chemo for Severe Crohn's?

I had my 1st CYTOXYN (Chemo) treatment on Friday. I am definitely very sick from it and this is very hard. I have yet to find someone who IS on it for their Crohn's. If you are on it, please share some feedback with me.

- How sick you were after from treatments and for how long each time? What symptoms you had from Chemo Treatments?

- How you are doing etc.

Anything?!

Never heard of Cytoxyn.

What were the previous 58 drugs?? Anyway, I'm not surprised you're sick from chemotherapy. It's brutal stuff. Is surgery not an option? To be honest, I didn't have the patience to try the experimental drugs, plus I was Prednisone-dependent, so I opted for surgery. But before that I did try all the mainstream Crohn's drugs: 5-ASAs, 6MP, Imuran, Remicade and Humira. However, Remicade has the best outcome for Crohn's, better, I believe, than any of the experimental therapies. Once I failed Remicade, that was basically it for me: I decided that no drug was ever going to work for my Crohn's.

I'm sorry I don't have any feedback for you about this treatment. In fact I've never heard of anyone getting Chemo as a treatment for Crohn's.

It sounds like you've been on every imaginable drug going. I hope this works for you.

Maybe if you could elaborate abit on your current condition and what you've been through, some others may be able to share similar experiences.

So sorry you are not feeling well. Is cyclophosphamide the type of chemo you are on? I hope that you will be feeling better soon.

Are you doing autologous stem cell transplant? Or are you trying it as a maintenance med to put crohns into remission? I recall reading a study about how a dose of 800 mg once monthly was being tried to keep patients in remission.

I'm sorry you are having to try such extreme measures. I hope you find improvement, I'll keep sending positive thoughts your way. Given that you've tried so many meds, you've probably already considered surgery, but if it is an option for you, maybe that'll help put crohns into remission like ncot says.
