Hello Everyone! I have had Chroan's Disease for 30 years, Usually my D is under control, a few set backs but basically have been able to manage it. I had surgery to remove 19" of my small intestine out 25 years ago, and recently because of scarring in the area and a blockage, have had another 6" removed. That is when everything started happening. Since the Surgery in December of 2012, I have not had anything close to "normal" bowel movements, all have been runny, Doc put me on Tincture of Opium which at first helped a lot, relaxing the constant spasms and helped slow the digestive process down to at least only have 6 bowl movements a day. I am also on prednisone 10mg a day, Colestipol 2 tabs 3x a day and Lilada 2 tabs 2x a day, along with 2 pepto bismol tabs 2x a day and a Humira Shot every other week.. The new symptoms are swelling in my hands, arms legs, dizziness, headache that lasts for days, with no relief from any type of medicine, and general feeling achy all over. Now in reading this forum I have seen that some of these symptoms others have had. so I am guessing it is all part (although a new part for me) of this D.. My question is this; is there any counter measures to help with especially the headache, and swelling? I have tried more water, watching diet, eating no fats, oils, etc.. nothing seems to help. Sometimes the headache is so bad that I can not even get to sleep. I would be grateful for any insight or help! And thank you again for taking the time to read this..
