More than 2 weeks ago, I started to have severe anal pain. I thought that these were my non-healing fissures. I saw the surgeon and he told me that this was a hematoma (collection of blood) and said he was not worried. Meanwhile, my GI suspected a fistula and I had to undergo an MRI. To cut a long story short, I failed to tolerate the MRI coil and repeated it one week after after getting anesthesia. The results showed no fistulas. However, they said perianal suppuration on the left side along the anal cleft with no extension to the intersphincretic mechanism.
The GP told me that this means an abcess and I have to take a strong antibiotic, injections. I'm now at work and I can't sit down; it's really very painful.
My GI is out of reach and taking antibiotics is a real torture for me.
What should I do?
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
