For years I've prayed to tune into Global News and hear them announce a breakthrough in Crohn's treatment like this one.

I sure hope this is the real deal. I suppose time will tell, but for now I'm bursting with hope.

I love to hear of a new and what appears to be a safe drug in the pipeline. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be a cure since only one patient remained in remission at the posting of the webpage but it is at least another option for those of us with little options remaining!

It does look hopeful, but still in the study phase. I'm glad to see research that is an alternative to what is already out there.

Only thing about this is, it can't be considered a "cure" unless it cures all CDers, I see it as treatment more so than a cure...it's nice to see an actual treatment for CD rather than just another cross-over drug used for CD...in this day and age I would have expected there to be targeted treatments specific to IBD, not the cross-over meds especially when you consider CD has been around for over a hundred years...guess my expectations are too high as usual though.

Fingers crossed for everyone that this will finally be "it" I'm tired of waiting to feel like a human being again, it's been soooooo long and I'm soooooo tired of it...don't know if I have another 5 or so years left in me....I lost hope a long time ago and to me personally this "news" just feels like another tease.

My daughter was supposed to be in the the pretrial for this treatment which was taking place in the Caribbean last year. Unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable traveling there with her because of her health but we did speak to Hal Gunn and his colleagues. They were incredibly generous with their time and were very honest about the results they were getting. I do believe this is an incredibly promising treatment for IBD and I if/when they start pediatric trials we will be there (I feel more comfortable traveling within Canada if she's unwell). The results so far are so promising. I hope it continues and we see it as an available treatment in the next few years.

Not really sure how to go about it killcolitis....and my hubby just found out he has to get scoped, he just came back from an ultra sound and the tech asked a doctor to come in, said he should have seen a doctor about his left sided pain he's been having for a while now and that they can see inflammation on both the right and left side of his intestines and asked about his liver as well. So with this horrible news about my hubby I'm more concerned about him than myself.

Ugh! So sorry to hear that! I hope it's viral or infectious and NOT IBD or anything equally difficult to treat. If you're interested, you can go on Qu's website and contact them. I believe they're only accepting Canadians right now and you're out West I think so it might be a possibility if you're interested.

Thanks killcolitis, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for hubby but you know how these things usually go...I'm so angry, sad and scared for him now :(

What is the Qu's website? Maybe both hubby and myself will be able to join the trial for this "therapy".
