well my peeps, finally had my teeth out last week.. good thing they did them all at once cause it hurts so bad I would have never finished the plan..  I was nostalgically looking back at some of my resections as a piece of cake!     plus ive lost 10lbs already.. they don't want to mess with my TPN formula unless they have to.. I would say another 20lbs and they probably will      ;o) smilewinkgrin     guess this emoticon is the closet I can get to having a smile for a while

Others that have all their teeth pulled have said the same thing - had it been more than one step, they would not have returned. When I had the grinding in prep for six caps, I did it all at once. Dental pain sucks!

Hey Randy...here's hoping you are hurting less by now and you are not dropping too much weight.  I give you credit for your strength - I hate simple fillings as they never really deaden my nerves enough.  in a strange way I envy you....my teeth are crumbling more each day and sometimes I just wish them all away....now that I know you think it is painful (a high threshold in my opinion), I will think twice about my wish.

So how does this work...are you starting to gum on your IV line???? nono

Ah, Randy. I'm so so sorry its being so hard on you. When I had mine done, my denture had already been made and it was put in the same day as the extractions. The only time my mouth hurt was when I had to take the denture out to rinse my mouth, twice a day I think I remember. I couldn't wait to get that denture back in! It was like it held the swelling in check. I guess like pressing on a wound to reduce the hurt. I hope this passes quickly for you. (((hugs)))

hey guys and gals... I had my teeth removed due to almost complete failure of the teeth structure and bone in my jaw . ostensibly due to long term TPN and steroid use as well as recent kidney trouble.. along with extreme dry mouth . it got progressively worse as the time went by from the sepsis in December last.

yes it still hurt tremendously at times but I must admit it is getting less each day. I have my first denture appointment in a few weeks.. still hanging in at 10lbs lost... ;o)

Hang in there Randy - you are tough!  I remember when my dad had his teeth pulled for dentures.  It was bad and we knew he was in pain.  Time will heal - good luck with the dentures.

Wow... So many adventures. With this pain, I (still) cannot relate. But since I'm coming back from another surgery, you example of piece of cake was very colorful!

well its been exactly 4 weeks... pain is less but still there. not the throbbing , but just aching... weird gum growths etc.. may have to have some excess gum removed me thinks... have my first fitting appointment on the 22nd... ;o)
