Has anyone taken Cimzia. My insurance would not approve Humira. Does it help with joint pain and fistulas?

Was it United Health Care? the denied my GI's request and i could only get Cimzia via Opti? Rx. Cimzia did not work for me, but every one is different.

I had to switch from Remicade.

Go here http://www.cimzia.com/cimplicity/ read and apply for the card.

I hope that if that is what you are prescribed it works for you.

Forgot to mention should you get it let it stand at room temperature for 30 minutes the injections will go much easier ( a lot less pain ) cold is a bummer.

Thanks! Just did my first injection yesterday. Do you know how long you have to wait to see if it helps with joint pain?

It might take 6-8 weeks. You just took your first loading dose and another in 2 weeks? then again 4 weeks later? Just remember everyone responds at different rates. There are no hard numbers when you have Crohns.

Right! The second injection is in two weeks. My insurance is PPOM. They denied humaira because of the cost and want me to try the less expensive Cimzia first. I sure I hope this works for my knees pain. Did you try the medication for joint pain too? Are you on remicade now? Do you take precautions being on the medication to avoid germs etc? I am also taking prednisone and am packing on pounds. Ugh

I was on Remicade first, after six months I started to get a bit of numbness below my knees. Then I started to forget things. I was working with what they called advanced processing machinery. fine mechanical and electronic setups. Then my memory really went bad. I complained about the changes and finally stopped the Remicade. a four month gap before Cimzia, joint pain was from Remicade Cimzia helped a bit. I ignored the pain, memory is my priority. now its been a year off Remicade and am still waiting for my memory to return. Cimzia didn't cut it for me, Memorial Day I was recovering from surgery, they cut out 40 cm and appendix was the freebee :) Joints and muscles still hurt. So does my side had another scan done next is another MRE. Then another scope. Who knows what else.

What are you attributing the memory loss to? Was it the remicade? That is scary! I wish you were feeling better. I agree with you that memory is the priority!
