Lomotil

Anyone take this for diarrhea?  I am having about 15 BMs a day since my resection and taking handfuls of Immodium.  My GI just prescribed this for me, up to 3/day, which, if this is similar to Immodium, is nowhere near enough to control this D.  Also, why is this a controlled substance?  I just got off powerful pain meds after 3 months of taking them daily and do not want to get back on something that can cause physical dependency any time soon.  Thanks for your input! 

How is it working for you dybeye? I just took one after a few bathroom trips after lunch and so far so good. The real test will be tonight. The D tends to hit hard right when I'm trying to wind down for bed (of course).
