Always be skeptical of cure claims for any disease. Especially ones made by the researcher who stands to profit. That said, the blinded study started last month. http://clinicaltrials.gov/show/NCT01951326. At least we'll get real data on whether MAP therapy works. I wish there was a study location near me I would try it.
Nice find.
The drug is listed as:
RHB-104
95 mg clarithromycin, 45 mg rifabutin, and 10 mg clofazimine
Clarithromycin:
A macrolide antibiotic used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, acute maxillary sinusitis, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, skin and skin structure infections.
Rifabutin:
A bactericidal antibiotic drug primarily used in the treatment of tuberculosis.
Clofazimine:
A fat-soluble riminophe****ne dye used in combination with rifampicin and dapsone as multidrug therapy for the treatment of leprosy. It has been used investigationally in combination with other antimycobacterial drugs to treat Mycobacterium avium infections in AIDS patients and Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis infection in Crohn's disease patients. Clofazimine also has a marked anti-inflammatory effect and is given to control the leprosy reaction, erythema nodosum leprosum.
I don't feel compelled to do this until we see results of this third study, but would it be possible to have a doctor write a prescript
ion to have a compounding pharmacy make the 5 capsules?
