I am a 62 yr old with Crohn's. I started symptoms when I was 20. They did not diagnose for 5-6 years as it was so rare in 1972.
I have had several chest cat scans showing several nodules in my lungs. The pulmonologist treating me believes the changes are related to my Crohn's Disease. Anyone else having lungs issues? I don't really have any symptoms - they were found on a routine chest x-ray.

Welcome to Healing Well! While rare, there have been many medical scholarly case presentations and studies showing that Crohn's can cause lun problems. Here is a link to just one:

I have chest pain and the ER people said it's from my colitis. But honestly I don't believe it. I'm currently waiting for my appointment with a lung specialist.

Crohn's is connected to so many extra-intestinal manifestations. I don't recall coming across this one but my memory is terrible. Thanks for bringing it up and thanks, Ides, for the link.

I'm glad this thread was created. Ive had crohns for 4 almost 5 years now and just this year they found a nodule in on my lung too, that was about
3 months or so ago now.
I worry every time I get chest pain or shortness of breath lol im only 22. How often do you get these checked for changes? My Gi jusy dismissed it and said it was normal for my age its size and my condition. .. but no nodules are normal! Lol

@Andrina:
I have chest pain as well. Unfortunately, for me personally it is related to acid reflux which I have a terrible time with. I blame my crohns-colitis, and will be going for an endoscopy soon to prove it!

M asthma is for sure worse when I am in a bad Crohn's flare. my GI says there is a correlation between the 2 and his NP says there is not. I tend to believe the DR over the NP...
