Remicade, BreastFeeding, and Live Vaccinations

I have a 10 month old(11m next week) son who has been breastfed since day one while I have continued to get my Remicade. I had the go to breastfeed from my GI, the Pediatrician, and from a Lactation consultant. However, now he is quickly approaching his 15 month well check where he will get his first set of live vaccines(we opted out of the one for Rota Virus). I was told that he must be weaned by his 15 month checkup but I'm wondering how far ahead of time should he be weaned? How long will the Remicade stay in his system? TIA! :-)

Why would he need to be weaned by his 15 month check-up? Remicade does NOT pass through breastmilk (according to infantrisk.org, my LC, my GI, and my ped). The only reason to delay live vaccinations was for any leftover Remicade in the system from childbirth, and so my doctors all agreed to hold off live vaccinations until 6 months old.

I have a 4 month old, and am on Remicade infusions. I got influenza a few weeks ago, and she didn't get it at all even though I was still holding her, etc. (I did wear a mask and washed my hands, though). That leads me to think that she isn't getting any of the Remi and isn't immune-system compromised.

Scifigal2k is right. The remi molecule is too large to pass through to the milk. Also at 11 months his risk for exposure would be greatly decreased because he's most likely eating solids and nursing less than an infant would. I nursed 2 kids on remicade and one even got the rotavirus vax and they were fine. No sickness. I personally don't think you need to wean him for that. If you want to, that's fine, but the studies show that the remi shouldn't be a problem.
