*Other* Crohns Symptoms!

well for me my back cracks a few times a day, don't now if its a big deal but it kinda started when i got diagnoused with crohns.(i should probably say something to my doc but dont want to face another problem). another thing is the lack of energy that plain out sucks. i have noticed sometimes that i get really pale once in a while(i think it has something to do with how well you sleep), i'm prety sure my crohns has something to do with it. other than that life is great Lol

Joint pain in my hands, wrists and elbows was a huge issue for me.

@Rango16: I would mention your back cracking for sure. You never know! They sent me to a rheumatologist after I complained of pain in my joints. Turns out I have arthritis. I just thought it was normal!

@gumby44: That frustrates me more than anything. It's like, I know my body. I know when it is or isn't related to my crohns. Yet, it isn't on their list of symptoms, so it must not be real or related.

@kazbern: I feel you on the joint pain. It's frustrating to feel so limited by it too.

@Ides: My apologies, I should have worded it better so to include any diagnosed, crohns-related things, as there are so many that others aren't aware of that are diagnosed alongside of the illness (unfortunately).

Well...some of my stuff has been diagnosed CD related and others I know but docs can't seem to agree...

brittle teeth, nails and hair

bad joints everywhere

peripheral neuropathy (medicine induced)

many skin issues - rashes, inflammation, scaliness (appear to be my way of showing viruses)

slow healing wounds

tongue sensations of burning (maybe induced from last flare??)

allergies (never had them til my first major flare)

perpetually plugged ears (think it is inflammatory as it is fine when on prednisone)

I haven't had many extra-intestinal manifestations of Crohn's. Joint pain is the most common EI symptom, but apart from a painful right wrist for a few months once (too much mouse use!), I haven't had any joint pain as such. Otherwise I've had:

Anaemia - suspect some meds made this even worse; iron transfusions were a godsend.

Thrombocytosis (raised platelets) - symptomless for a long time, but in the year or two prior to surgery, my calves would often feel heavy and 'tingly' (hard to describe), and would hurt if I walked for more than a few minutes. This was related to Crohn's, believe it or not. In acute inflammation, the platelets can rise as a part of the acute inflammatory response.

Fevers - mostly low-grade, but would have spells of high-grade fevers with bad chills.

Thyroid weirdness - my GI first discovered this in 2011; I had sky-high thryoid antibodies apparently. A few months ago my GP diagnosed me with Hashimoto's. I'm not entirely happy with the diagnosis, because I think he jumps to conclusions too readily, but I'm probably hiding my head in the sand, just like I did with Crohn's... :-/ No idea if this is connected to my Crohn's or not.

Miscellaneous - Fatigue, slow wound healing, minor allergy/sinus issues, migraines, sensitive/itchy skin, brittle hair/skin, and a few other things I'm too lazy/tired to think of. However, these things I put down to being caused by drug side-effects, malabsorption, or something else that is not directly a consequence of Crohn's.

I should add that now I'm in a surgical-induced remission, I don't have most of these things anymore.
