I thought you would enjoy my crazy brain.... ( In real life) a couple of days before Christmas, I baked the peanut butter cookies with the chocolate kisses on top. They are my daughter's favorite, which was my rationalization for making them. I ended out eating a couple of them and then proceeding to eat some chocolate kisses by themselves, and then later some peppermint bark candy. I felt terrible that night and had a horrible time sleeping. I just can't handle either the sugar or that fat in cookies if I eat more than one or two. Anyway, I had this crazy dream that I was on trial for being "A danger to myself" and they had to decide whether to have me committed to a mental hospital! So here is my memory of being on the witness stand in my dream:

Prosecutor: Why did you bake those cookies?

Me: I made them for my daughter. She loves them

Prosecutor. You are at risk of perjury here. Did you in fact know that you would eat some of those cookies while you were baking them?

Me: Yes, but in my defense, I didn't even take a taste of the dough, to avoid Salmonella.

Prosecutor: That is not relevant! Do you know that eating cookies will aggravate your Crohn's?

Me: Yes

Prosescutor: And did you in fact go on to eat the candy kisses???

Me: Yes

Prosecutor: And what else did you eat:

Me:Peppermint bark

Judge: I find you guilty of being a danger to yourself! ( Down came the gavel...and I woke up!)

Ha, ha! At least I still have a sense of humor. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and holidays!!

That is absolutely hilarous--It is funny sometimes I can get away with eating things I shouldnt and sometimes I cant??--but I know I should not go there-I did not refrain at Thanksgiving but refrained at Christmas--!! I guess you binged and got it over with for awhile-

Wow lol, you're pretty hard on yourself mentally based on that dream eh! Then again, it really boils down to CD being pretty hard on us I guess...after all, in the long run it controls us even when we don't want to admit it...it's a very intrusive disease that's for sure.

Yeah, I've been ridiculously careful the whole rest of the week, but I've still walked around with some degree of abdominal pain/ pressure all week. I don't know if it is the stress of cooking and entertaining, or I'm still not eating within my "norm." I think most of this is IBS related for me, but still, I would love to have a solid 24 hours feeling no GI discomfort at all....I don't think that ever really happens for me.

That IS funny! But also a little sad because your subconscious is clearly manifesting your struggle/guilt over trying to keep the balance between taking care if the body and enjoying the normal things in life like delicious Hershey's kiss/peanut butter cookies! Life is always a juggling act isn't it? I hope the stress of the season passes and you get some pain free days!
