I am write today in the hope to find some kind of something to help my poor son who is 11..
starting back to when he was 3 he was dx with Common variable immunodeficiency, he has been having infusions of immouglobin every 3 weeks since to boost his immune system.
Last yr he was dx with Crohn's and UC while hospitalized Aug 2012, his second (Aug 2013) colonoscopy showed inflammation more in the lower end. In July he had C-Diff, Now just a few days ago over Christmas he was hospitalized for 2 days sent home with Flygal. Prednisone 30mg, Omeprozal, and for him to continue taking his 1600mg of Asocol.
I do understand that the meds for the UC and Crohn's are suppressing his immune system, while in the immugloblin is boosting it, there is a fine line to keep him on an even keel.
He is not a complainer and does not want to go back into the hospital, every time he goes to the bathroom, we ask.. "any blood?" and he says no.
He went to the bathroom this am at 3, and the blood poured out like someone turned on the facet.
I feel like he is not getting the help he really needs…. What can I do?????
I feel so helpless
