So...I am back from our big trip to Hawaii. I can say it was beautiful despite us hitting a windy cold snap for Hawaii (those of us from the Northeast US and our Canada friends thought the weather was just great!) We were more active than I would have liked (frankly two weeks at a local hotel doing nothing with no contact would have been great for me). But we saw some gorgeous scenery and Pearl Harbor was very moving (saw the area where my Dad worked the weeks after the bombing and I cried good tears). I really want to buy a hot tub now!!! The days in the hot tub and two days doing nothing but laying under an umbrella at the beach were my favorite parts---hubby said the show at the luau was totally awesome and was his favorite thing.
Unfortunately I am in the end of the first 30 days on budesonide (30@30mg, 30@20mg then 30@10mg) and it did not help much during the trip. Still getting daily cramping, but more worrisome is the often times pressure below my rib cage and the sort of often sharp pain in my neoTI. I switched back to whole packets of cholestyramine to be able to make excursions....now I am back to C and tearing myself a new one. If use only 1/2 I have D and can't find a balance. How much cholestyramine did not seem to impact the gut pains. Frankly, I still think it is bacterial overgrowth more than the inflammation that is causing my issues. That would explain why I still can't get back to my post flare up C to D balance.
