I have Crohn's that is moderately active (best I've ever been though in the 21 years I've had it) and have been TTC for 7 months. I'm somewhat under control, and my doctor says "now or never".

I'm not having much luck with charting my temps to confirm ovulation. I'm on Entocort and Cimzia, and I wonder if the steroids would mask any temperature changes? I just started using a fertility monitor and only got "high"s this month, with no peaks. That's supposed to normal while the monitor gets to know your cycle in the first month, but I'd love to know if I'm actually ovulating. I have very regular periods, but have had a lot of midcycle bleeding since starting the Entocort.


Anyone else have this issue? It would make sense to me if your temperatures are affected by illness and steroids, but I can't find any info on it. Thanks in advance.

How old are you memmy? What is the length of your regular cycle? Are you taking your temps while still in bed every morning?

I found the ovulation kits made me crazy. I started using them in 1995, though, so maybe they've improved.

It seems like entocort might influence your temp. How long have you been on it? Having any side effects that you can notice?

I know that when I was on entocort it messed with my cycle. It was heavier and one month I completely skipped my cycle which never happens. I wasn't temping at the time, but I suppose it could interfere with your temps. Have you ever temped before?

Sorry for the late reply- I haven't been checking my email. I just turned 31 and have been temping for two months, first thing in the morning before even moving. My temps are all over the place and haven't helped me pinpoint ovulation. I've been using OPKs and have only gotten a positive twice in 4 months, and they were like a week before my period. I'm worried that my illness and/or the Entocort have messed with my hormones and are delaying my ovulation. I'm also in my second cycle using a Fertility Monitor. I've gotten tons of "highs" both months, but no peak.

Stef- I noticed the same thing. Heavy long period one month, then a very short light period the next. I feel like it must be messing with things and maybe causing my late ovulation.
