Hi all,

After I was in the hospital this past February for a horrendous flare-up, i was put on Prednisone and Remicade. Since then, I tapered down from 50mg of Pred and just finally came off of it. In the last few days, I've noticed a slight skin rash on my chest, shoulders, and back. They are small faded circles. They itch only sometimes. I'm not sure what it could be. I'm guessing due to the timing that it is some kind of reaction to the Remicade that the Prednisone prevented from happening, but i'm not sure. Has anyone heard of skin rashes like this due to Remicade? P.S. my last infusion was April 10th. Thanks in advance!

In January I developed a similar-sounding rash on my neck and chest. Turns out it was rosea pityriasis, which is a harmless rash that usually goes away on its own. My dermatologist said it's often brought on by stress and gave me a steroid cream to hasten getting rid of it. She said it can stay around for up to six months, but it usually only stays for about two months.

When I googled it, I thought the same thing, but I don't have one of those mother rashes like they mentioned. It's really not bothersome so I thought of just leaving it. Thanks for your help!

Bumped this. D having ongoing problems. Last month, titrated off pred only to have symptoms return in 4 days, this time is was 2 days, and still on Uceris. The Remi was at maximum dose and maximum measurable(34),still not working. We are done there. Waiting for Vedo. Only thing keeping her under 20 BM's is pred. Yesterday, new torso rash. Small bumps, not itchy. Will see doc for colonoscopy Tues., but what is most logical to blame it on? Too much Remi, or off the pred...mainly curious and hopeful it does not morph. Headache and sinus pain new too. Poor kid, fighting every day.
