Hi Lisa! I have been dealing with burning hot face for many years. I tend to see a lot of my CD issues show up in my skin first.
I can not say for sure why I ahve it, but I can give you a few of my thoughts including a recent discovery I made. By the way, none of my docs ever paid attention to my red face complaint---most just say oh you have pale skin or its just rosacea.
I tried no caffeine for a while as it seemed to happen when I had a lot of diet soda. Well.. I went caffeine free for two years and still had it. I did give up soda (wow that helped my gut a lot) since then and noticed a big drop in the red issue after that.
I just was reading up on another medical condition and about antibiotics and discovered that....bacterial overgrowth can cause rosacea and burning skin. Hmmmm...I was on antibiotics for 10 days an no burning skin....as soon as I got off them I started getting the red face again.
So....I would ask to see if you have a bacterial infection issue. You might also try probiotics to get try for a balanced gut floar - I can't take them, but they have helped others.
Hope this helps some---hate those mysterious things that no one recognizes!
