I'm a 20 year old women and I was diagnosed with IBS about
a year ago after bad constipation, a lot of mucous, gas & bloating for about
3 years (was too embarrassed to go to the Dr for a while).
I'm also gluten intolerant and have cut out gluten for about
a year now.
Before when I used digest gluten I would get bad cramps, but now I've cut it out for a while my allergic reaction has gotten worse and whenever I digest gluten I get horrific cramps (so bad I asked my mum to call an ambulance once), my stomach swells up like a beach ball, I get brain fog, I feel like I have a brick in my stomach, I have unnatural amounts of gas and it's genuinely horrible.
But over the past few months my stomach has got considerably worse. Instead of just constipation I now have diarrhoea with bright red blood mixed into it and after I wipe most of the time and I've lost quite a bit of weight because of it. I feel like I have constipation constantly, but when I go it's painful soft stools that never seem to end or horrible mucous (sorry if TMI haha). I have cramps where I can actually feel my descending colon (well what I think is my colon) contracting & I have pain in my ascending colon often.
I also pass undigested food.
I always have gas, there's not a time when I don't have it and it really smells awful, like something is rotting.
My mouth ulcers have gotten worse and I often feel like I have bad breath as my mouth is always dry.
I'm exhausted quite a lot of the time and I often nap in the middle of the day or come home from work and collapse.
I've had this for a few months and there seems to be no relief. I've taken IBS tablets but don't seem to make much difference. Should I go back to the Dr? Do you think this is Crohn's or not?
I'm so embarrassed and I just want to lead a normal life argh
