Feeling ok, but dr wants to treat aggressively with Entyvio

I have what several GI drs say is advanced Crohns. Inflammation and ulcerations all over the small intestine and structures in the terminal ileum. I had a resection in 2011. Currently I'm on iron infusions, omeprazole (really helps with duodenal ulcers), entocort and low dose methotrexate. I had an MRE and it showed significant active Crohns. My dr wants me to start Entyvio. Problem is despite all of the above I actually feel "ok". I've had this 12 years and think I just have learned how to eat right, exercise and just overall take care of myself even as a busy mom. I get that the dr wants to be more aggressive so that the inflammations and ulcerations dont scar and cause strictures (i have stricturing crohns) but since I feel ok I am hesitant to go on such aggressive treatment. Especially a newer drug like Entyvio. What If I feel worse? Has anyone else been in ths situation? I am fully functioning and my Crohns is not negatively effecting my quality of life at all right now. I feel like a new person after I Finally started iron infusions so should I really do more?

I exhausted Humira and Remicade in the time before surgery and was recently on Cimzia but because of my latest poor MRE results he has determined Cimzia (or all TNF blockers) do not work for me. Remicade was the best, but unfortunately I went off and on it 2-3 times and developed antibodies to it. Humira was before my surgery and didn't work either.

I was on humira for 7 years. It gave me back my life. I thought I was in remission. Anyway I am in a flare now- Humira stopped working as the disease had progressed beyond what the humira dosage could handle.

I have been to my gastro & several Crohns specialists. The consensus is that at this point, one needs to be aggressive in treatment or else one is certain to be headed for complications /and or surgery. I have had complications and surgery in the past 1997-1998. Don't want to go there again!

The Drs. are prescribing Entyvio, which is a very new drug. Sure I am ambivalent and scared about going on it. But sometimes you have to take things head on.

From experience, I would say yes you need to be aggressive. Inflammatory Bowel Disease is an ANGRY MONSTER and it needs to be tamed.
