Swollen knee, pain and other extraintestinal manifestations

It's my 3rd day with a swollen knee and severe pain. Already I have in my right leg incurable tendinitis which necessitates wearing walking shoes only and not standing for a long time. Now, my left knee is swollen and hurts very much. I'm a college teacher and have to stand all the time.
The distention and constipation have surpassed all measures and it has become a norm to scream while having a bm and have drops of blood as an indication of a new anal fissure every time I use the bathroom.
Mouth ulcers too started to conquer my mouth and fungal infections are beginning to spread over my skin. Is this an indication of Crohn's activity? I'm at my witts end.

Some of the problems, like mouth sores and other fungal infections could be from the antibiotics. I tend to get yeast infections with antibiotic use, especially if I don't eat yogurt, swish my mouth with it, etc. And there are meds for it too. Does your tongue have a white furry look to it?

A question for you - have you taken Ciprofloxacin, Levaquin, or another antibiotic in the fluoroquinolone family? My daughter recently had to take one and it's known to cause tendonitis even months after using it. She's having tendon problems from it right now. She knew about the possibility beforehand but needed the antibiotic too badly to not take the risk.

JaSanne, thank you so much. Hope your daughter is better now. Well, yes, I've taken a lot of quinlones in the past but I haven't had any since a year ago when cipro caused bleeding in the esophagus. My tongue is normal. No doctor told me that excessive use of antibiotics is the cause of tendinitis.

It is possible to be Chron's. Before I was diagnosed with chrons, I had severe stomach pain, diarrhea and blood in my stools. After my 10-month medication without any progress, I undergone surgery. I had my colon and appendix removed.

Minnietoty, I'm actually an ostomate for 10 years now and I am happy living a quality life. The stoma bag really saved my life and I have learned to live it.

Minnietoty, are you sure it is tendonitis in your knee? I had erythema nodosum occur on my knee which caused swelling and pain. I couldn't bend the knee.

I hope you're having a better day, and thanks for the good wishes for my daughter. My statement on the fluoroquinolone antibiotics wasn't as clear as it should have been--you don't have to have taken these drugs for long periods of time or even multiple times for this to happen. What I meant about, "it's known to cause tendonitis even months after using it", is that you can take even one round of it and a few months after being off it, develop tendonitis. If you look on the internet there are sites where people who've had the problem call it being "floxed".

My daughter has a history of ankle problems (loose tendons) and was really worried about this happening, but she just needed it too badly. That's the thing with chronic illness: most of the time we have to decide which is the lesser of two evils. I've had to take Cipro multiple times and for extended periods, and didn't know about this until my daughter was prescribed Levaquin last month. From by research, Cipro has a higher incidence of it than Levaquin.

fluoroquinolone drugs and flagyl caused joint pain and nerve pain for me in the legs, shoulders, and ankles..I do tend to have these extra manifestations anyway going into a flare(not as severe) along with mouth sores, loss of taste, burnt tongue feeling, fatigue, fungal infections of the toes (nails), blood shot eyes(light sensitivity/problems in night vision), dizziness, and headaches.
