question about dental work and humira/mercaptopurine

I really don't think having dental work while on biologics will be harmful...I have a dentist appointment on the 16th of this month actually...I will double check with my dentist when I see him but I'm sure he'll tell me it's no problem (I have a couple of little fillings to get done and possibly an implant for a back molar I lost in my teen yrs due to a neglectful "mother" for not allowing me to go to the dentists for too many years, and my bridge fell out again so I want something permanent).

If anything I would think that keeping up with your dental needs would be essential since with biologics you want to avoid any infections and I'm sure a bad tooth/teeth counts. I think as long as your health is over all fine (even on a big gun) then having your jaw worked on should be fine but you can always ask your GI office or even contact Humira directly, they're really good at answering questions like this as well.

I just had all 4 wisdom teeth out while on Humira. The oral surgeon wanted a detailed account of my Crohn's history, and put me on amoxicillin to prevent infections. (And told me to consult my GI as needed about the antibiotics). So far so good, three days out. I'm trying to take probiotics around the amoxicillin, which is a little tricky dosing-wise.

I was curious about maxofacial surgery, I have a horrible underbite and every dentist tells me surgery (breaking my jaw and correcting the underbite) is the only way to fix it.
