anyone have success with antibiotics?

2011 I was in the hospital and diagnosed with crohns (2cm abscess) I was given cipro/flagyl intravenously and within hours I was back to normal and released with instructions to keep taking antibiotics for 3 weeks orally.
-everything was fine

2013 I was back in the hospital with a flare up, given antibiotics and back to normal

Last couple of weeks I've been feeling ill and stomach pains etc, went to my doctor and he prescribed me antiobiotics and within a day everything is back on track.

Anyone else do really well with antibiotics? I was wondering if its possible, that I have something else instead of crohns?

How did you get your Crohn's diagnosis? Was it by biopsy? If so, then the diagnosis is probably correct. Crohn's often causes abscess infections and bacterial imbalance that can be helped with antibiotics. That doesn't mean that you don't have Crohn's disease.

Yes the same combination of antibiotics has helped me also. I understand what your describing, within a couple days I went from scary sick to back to what is normal for me. I have tried all the usual meds and even surgery and nothing has ever really helped. Prednisone and cipro/flagyll have gotten me through the worst times but both are only temporary fixes. I have been told that the more you use the antibiotics the less effective they will be but it's still a relief to find something that helps.

Yes metronidazole twice (taken for an unrelated prob) was like a miracle cure. But refused long term use given significant side effects.. Perm loss of feeling in limbs etc. so no miracle sadly and no further prescriptions.
