New to immunosuppressants!

Hi,

I started infliximab, azathioprine and ciprofloxacim on Thursday for treatment of perianal Crohn's disease. I was initially diagnosed with UC 10 years ago and had colectomy and then a j pouch 7 years ago. The diagnosis has changed to crohns and I have multiple fistulas, regular abscesses and currently 2 seton drains in. We are trying medication before we opt for surgery to remove j pouch and have a permanent stoma.

I'm just after personal experiences of the drugs. Any advice, tips and hints are greatly appreciated.

Hi Laura,

I think you should see really good results with this combination of meds. Remicade, as you likely are aware, is the current state of the art treatment for Crohn's. Very effective in healing fistulas. Many report feeling much better almost instantly or after the loading dose of Remicade. Wishing you tremendous success.
