Hi Minnie, There is absolutely no need to panic. It's a harmful bacteria die-off. I gather, Rifaximin is an anti-biotic that is used to treat diarrhoea by eliminating the bacteria E. Coli which commonly causes it. After two weeks of medication, it must have killed enough bacteria to cause a big die-off. Hence, you've experience diarrhoea. The harmful bacteria retaliate and produce a thick yellow fluid which irritates the stomach and produces gas in the intestine. It doesn't allow food to move down thereby ending up in vomiting. Some of the other die-off symptoms include insomnia, migraines, anger (you must have gotten angry on your mother or students or someone else), irritability, mental confusion, fatigue, depression etc. Obviously, stool leaks, as you have anal fissures. It's like a bottle of water held downwards with loosened cap.
Taking Rifaximin with a compromised immune system is not a good idea, as harmful bacteria retaliate and cause intestinal bleeding. The black streaks that you notice in stool. The die-off symptoms usually last for 3 days and can continue till weeks. You must have probably gotten better by now.
