It is under the "Risk for cancer" section of the brochure. We are talking about lifetime risk, so yes, if you read what I quoted above, it is after 30 yrs of the disease and the extent of colonic involvement.
I wasn't sharing this info to scare anyone, but rather to make sure that folks make sure they get regular colonoscopies to screen for colon cancer even in remission if disease is in the colon.
I think the risk of untreated Crohn's disease is even worse....I'm not advocating not taking medication. My friend who has had severe Crohn's for many years and just finished chemotherapy for lymphoma, and she is being advised to stop 6MP but still continue with Humira. At least for now, she has beat the lymphoma, which is awesome, but she has severe Crohn's and can't go without medication. It's all scary, but we have to get our best information, and do the best we can.
